Rencong Alphabet from Kerinci

Rencong script which is a kind of ancient Malay writing was frequently used in Southern Sumatera (Bangkahulu and Palembang) and Minangkabau. This script lasted until the 18th century which was before the Dutch colonised Indonesia.

The Malay used Rencong or Rencang script, Kawi script and Lampung script in the ancient times. Studies showed that these writing are related to the ancient Cambodian writings.
